# Screening steps explained

> The kinds of steps you might see in a process, and what each one asks of you.

Every job has its own process, so what you're asked to do varies by role and by company.

## What you might see

A review your resume waits on, a human or AI interview, a short questionnaire, a file to upload, a message to reply to, or a general task, in whatever order that job's process defines.

## What holds and what doesn't

Some steps wait for a recruiter to look before moving you forward. Others advance automatically once you've completed them, sometimes based on how you scored against the role.

## If a step is skipped for you

Not every candidate walks the exact same path on a job. Depending on how you came in, sourced or applied, some steps may not apply to you at all.
