# Signing in

> The different ways you end up in Staffer, from a magic link to signing up directly.

There's no single "sign up" flow. How you arrive depends on how you found the job.

## From a recruiter's outreach

If a recruiter added you as a candidate, you get a magic link by email. Opening it signs you in directly, no password, no separate account creation step.

## From a job listing

Applying to a public listing on a company's career page creates your account as part of applying.

## Signing up directly

Go straight to Staffer and sign in with Google or Microsoft, then claim your profile as described in [Claiming your profile](/candidates/claiming-your-profile).

  Whichever way you arrive, if you were in the middle of something, like applying to a job, you're sent back to it right after signing in.
