# Create your workspace

> The first step for a new company on Staffer: look up your company or add it manually, then create your workspace.

This is step 1 of 3 in setting up a new company on Staffer. It only applies if you're the first person from your company to sign up. If you're joining one that's already set up, see [Sign in](/companies/sign-in).

## Look up your company

Enter your company's website. Staffer checks it against its own company database and, if it finds a match, shows you a preview: logo, industry, headquarters, and size. Confirm it and your workspace is created from that data.

## If it isn't found

No match doesn't block you. Enter your details manually instead, starting with your company name. You can fill in the rest yourself, or let Staffer fill in what it can find. See [Add your company details](/companies/workspace-details).

## If your company is already registered

If your email domain already has a Staffer workspace and auto-join isn't turned on for it, you can't create a second one. You'll be asked to get an invite from an admin there instead.

<Info>
  Only your company's admins can turn auto-join on, from their organization settings. If you expected to land straight in an existing workspace and didn't, ask them to check that setting.
