# Recommended actions

> What the recommended action on a candidate means, and where it comes from.

Next to an active candidate, Staffer suggests one next step: send a reminder, review a finished interview, move them to the next stage.

## Where it comes from

The suggestion is worked out fresh each time you look, from the candidate's current state, what's done in their process, and how they compare to others in the same pipeline. Nothing is pre-written or queued up in advance. It reflects where things stand right now.

## You decide

The suggestion is exactly that, a suggestion. Nothing happens on its own. Acting on it, sending the message, moving the stage, is always a click you make.
