# FAQ

> Short answers to the questions teams ask most before and after they start with Staffer.

## About Staffer

  <Accordion title="Is Staffer an applicant tracking system?">
    Yes. You run jobs, candidates, the hiring process, interviews and messages in Staffer. The difference is that an AI agent works inside each job: it drafts the brief, searches for candidates, scores them and suggests the next action for each one.   <Accordion title="Does the AI make hiring decisions?">
    No. The agent drafts, searches, scores and suggests. A person on your team moves every candidate to **Offer**, **Hired** or **Rejected**. The only automatic rejections are ones you set up yourself, such as a questionnaire that rejects on a wrong answer to a qualifying question.

  <Accordion title="Does Staffer send messages to candidates by itself?">
    No. Someone on your team sends every message. Your process does send automatic notices, such as a link to a questionnaire or an AI interview when it's the candidate's turn, and the details when you schedule an interview.

  <Accordion title="Can we try it for free?">
    Yes. On the free **Starter** plan, your organization gets \$100 of credits when you set up your first workspace. See [Plans](/pricing/plans).

  <Accordion title="How is Staffer priced?">
    By usage. You buy credits, and AI work such as chat, searches, scoring and AI interviews draws on them. There are no per-seat fees. See [How pricing works](/pricing/how-it-works).

## Candidates and data

  <Accordion title="Where do the candidates in search results come from?">
    From Staffer's database of public professional profiles in Europe and North America. It includes work history, skills and location, but no email addresses or phone numbers. See [Search for candidates](/companies/running-a-search).

  <Accordion title="Can I import candidates from our current applicant tracking system?">
    Not directly. There's no integration with other applicant tracking systems. You can add people by LinkedIn URL, by name or from a file, but Staffer only matches them to people already in its database. See [Add candidates yourself](/companies/add-candidates).

  <Accordion title="How do I get a candidate's email address?">
    Click **Request contact info** on their profile to look it up, or add it yourself. See [Get contact details](/companies/contact-details).

  <Accordion title="Where is our data stored?">
    In the EU: the database, search index, file storage and the application itself. AI requests go through an EU endpoint, and nobody trains models on your data. See [Data location and security](/admin/security).

  <Accordion title="Do candidates pay for anything?">
    No. Candidates use Staffer for free. Their chat with the assistant on their application page doesn't use your credits either.

## Working in Staffer

  <Accordion title="Who can see our jobs and candidates?">
    Everyone in the workspace, whatever their role. Roles decide what people can change, not what they can see. To keep hiring separate, use separate workspaces. See [Roles and permissions](/get-started/roles-and-permissions).

  <Accordion title="Can a hiring manager review candidates without an account?">
    Yes, with a [share link](/companies/share-candidates). For ongoing involvement, invite them as a reviewer and name them on a review step. See [Get a hiring manager's feedback](/academy/hiring-manager-feedback).

  <Accordion title="Does Staffer work with Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Outlook?">
    Not today. Interviews use Google Meet, and calendar sync works with Google Calendar. You can also share any calendar as a read-only iCal link so your busy times are respected. See [Calendar and availability](/companies/calendar).

  <Accordion title="Can Staffer post our jobs to LinkedIn or Indeed?">
    No. Published listings appear on your career page and on the Staffer job board at jobs.staffer.com. You can copy a listing's link and post it wherever you like.

  <Accordion title="Is there a mobile app?">
    No. Staffer runs in the browser, for your team and for candidates.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Which languages does Staffer support?">
    The app itself is in English. Listings can be translated into many languages. AI interviews run in English or Norwegian.

  <Accordion title="How do I get help?">
    Click **Support** at the bottom of the sidebar to chat with the Staffer team.

    Check [status.staffer.com](https://status.staffer.com) for current incidents and uptime. If the status page shows everything working and Staffer still won't load for you, email [support@staffer.com](mailto:support@staffer.com).
