Everyone in Staffer has two roles: one in the workspace, which covers hiring work, and one in the organization, which covers billing, compliance and company-wide settings. What you can do is the combination of both. The two are independent. An organization admin who is only a viewer in a workspace can manage billing but can’t create a job. A recruiter who is a member of a client’s workspace can do all the hiring work there without any role in the client’s organization.

Workspace roles

Reviewer and viewer currently have exactly the same access. Anyone named on a process step, as a reviewer or an attendee, can complete that step whatever their role.

What each workspace role can do

Change someone’s workspace role in Settings → Workspace → Members. See Members and roles.

Organization roles

Organization pages (Settings → Organization, including Billing, Usage & credits, Plans and Compliance) are only available to organization owners and admins, whatever their workspace role. Organization members are often people who joined automatically because their email domain matches the company’s. That’s why the member role grants nothing at the organization level. Change someone’s organization role in Settings → Organization → Members. See Organization settings.

Common questions

Billing belongs to the organization, not the workspace. If you created your workspace inside an organization that already existed, you’re a member of that organization, not an admin. Ask an organization admin to promote you, or to handle billing.
No. Everyone in a workspace can see every job in it. A job’s Members list and its team don’t limit access. To keep hiring separate, use separate workspaces.
Yes. Send them a share link. They can read the candidates you picked and leave notes, without signing in.
No. The five workspace roles and three organization roles are fixed.
Not from the app. You can’t change your own role, and you can’t invite someone as an owner. If a workspace needs a new owner, ask us through Support in the sidebar.
