Why did a company contact me?

Companies search these profiles when they’re hiring, similar to searching a professional network. A recruiter likely found yours that way and reached out because they thought you could be a fit for a role. Staffer’s own database doesn’t hold email addresses or phone numbers as part of those profiles. If a company has your contact details, they either looked yours up individually, at a cost to them, or you gave your details to them yourself, for example by applying to a job or replying to a message.
