Your copilot is a chat panel that sits alongside almost every page in Staffer. Click Hide chat to tuck it away, or open it again from the same spot, and type into Ask anything… to get started.

What it can do

  • Look up a company you’re considering: size, industry, headquarters, what they do.
  • Tell you how many jobs of a certain kind are open right now, broken down by city or function.
  • Search the job market for you, the same search behind Find jobs.
  • Compare your profile against similar candidates and suggest what’s missing, anonymously: it never shows you anyone else’s name, contact details, or company.
  • Check where you stand on one of your applications: what step you’re on, and what’s next.
  • Withdraw an application for you.
  • Update a single field on your profile, if you ask it to.

What it checks with you first

Only two things ever need your say-so: withdrawing an application, and changing a profile field. The copilot shows you exactly what it’s about to do, right in the conversation, with Approve and Reject buttons, and waits. Everything else on the list above runs right away.

Ask permission, or let it act

A Mode setting under the chat box controls this: Ask permission, the default, or Auto. On Auto, the two actions above happen immediately instead of waiting for your approval. Change it anytime.
Withdrawing an application through your copilot is final on your side either way, in Ask permission or Auto mode. Only the company can put you back into their process afterward.

Your conversation isn’t saved

Everything you and your copilot say to each other lives only in that browser tab. Reload the page and it’s still there. Close the tab and it’s gone for good. Staffer doesn’t keep it. That’s useful on a shared computer.

What it can’t do

  • It can’t apply to a job for you. Apply on the listing yourself.
  • It can’t change your skills or languages. Edit those on your profile page.
  • It can’t upload a resume, CV or photo to your profile. You can’t do that anywhere in Staffer today.
  • It can’t undo a withdrawn application.
  • If you’re only using a private link from a company and haven’t signed in, it’s limited to looking up that company and checking that one application. Sign in for everything else.

Common questions

Only if you’ve switched Mode to Auto yourself. On the default Ask permission setting, it always waits for you to approve first.
A generous one you’re unlikely to hit through normal use. It’s there to stop abuse, not to ration your conversation.
No. The conversation isn’t saved. Ask again when you’re back.
