Staffer notifies you in two places: the bell in the sidebar and the Notifications page. Both show notifications from every workspace you belong to, not only the one you’re currently in.

The bell

The sidebar bell shows how many notifications you haven’t read. It checks for new ones about once a minute, and again when you switch back to the tab. Click it to see your recent notifications, with a dot on unread ones. Click a notification to mark it read and open what it’s about. Mark all read marks them all read.

The Notifications page

The full list has Mark all read, a Search notifications box and Filter. You can filter by Status (All or Unread) and by Type. The Type list only shows kinds you’ve received. Columns are Notification, Type and Received. Some Type labels differ from the names in your notification settings. For example, Process step started here is A process step is assigned to you in settings.

Every notification kind

Other emails, such as interview confirmations, only go to candidates, so they aren’t in your settings.

Where to change these

In Settings → Account → Notifications, turn each kind on or off, separately for in-app and email. This only affects you. See Your account settings.

Job-scoped notifications

Four kinds only reach you for jobs you’re subscribed to: new applications, candidate messages, interview transcripts and completed process steps. You’re automatically subscribed to jobs you create. To follow a job you didn’t create, open its … menu and check Notify me. Steps assigned to you are different. You’re notified when it’s your turn, whether or not you’re subscribed to the job.
