Segments group your talent pool into named, colored groups, such as “Store managers, Oslo” or “Graduate engineers 2027”. A candidate can be in as many segments as you like.

Create a segment

On the Segments page in the sidebar, click New segment and give it a name.

Add candidates to a segment

There are two ways, and you can use both on the same segment:
  • By hand. Add the people you pick.
  • With Intake. Set a segment’s Intake to one or more jobs. Everyone moved to Qualified on those jobs joins the segment automatically, including people who qualified before you set it up.
Qualified is a stage on every job. Use it for strong candidates you want to keep, for example the runners-up when someone else is hired. See Change a candidate’s stage.

The Segments page

The Segments page lists every segment in your workspace. Its columns: Created by and Created are hidden by default. Turn columns on or off under Display. Filter by intake job, engagement or who created the segment. Engagement is the share of a segment’s members who did something themselves in the last 30 days, like replying to a message or completing a step. Nothing your team does counts toward it. It’s the same idea as Engagement in the talent pool, measured for the whole segment.

A segment’s own page

Click a segment to open its page, with an overview and the candidates in it. In the talent pool, each candidate’s segments show on their row. See Talent pool.

What segments don’t do

A segment doesn’t message anyone, and there’s no way to send one message to a whole segment. It keeps the right people together so you can find them when a new job opens.

Common questions

Yes, in as many as you like.
Yes. Everyone already at Qualified on the jobs you pick joins, as well as anyone moved there later.
No. Adding someone to a segment doesn’t send them anything.
